Adam Kulbat named to Capital One Academic All-District team

Pioneer sophomore honored for academic, athletic excellence

WINGATE, N.C. --- Tusculum College sophomore defender Adam Kulbat has been voted to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 3 men's soccer team for NCAA Division II, as voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kulbat, a native of Blaxland, Australia, appeared in 14 matches (13 starts) for the Pioneers on defense, helping Tusculum limit the opposition to just 14 goals in those contests. The Pioneers compiled a 0.95 goals against average and had four shutouts in Kulbat's 14 appearances. He also recorded an assist in a 2-0 victory over Lees-McRae on Sept. 7.

Academically, Kulbat is majoring in sport management and has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.69. He is a member of both the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Tusculum College Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Along with the other 10 members of the All-District team, Kulbat will advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® national ballot. District 3 includes NCAA Division II schools from the Conference Carolinas, the Peach Belt Conference and the South Atlantic Conference.
