Tusculum's Adam Sigmon named SAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum’s Adam Sigmon has been named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.

Sigmon, a senior right-hander from Taylorsville, N.C., tossed a two-hit shutout in the Pioneers’ 3-0 conference win over Lincoln Memorial on Saturday.

The Alexander Central High School graduate went seven innings, scattered a pair of singles, walked five and struck out seven as he recorded his first collegiate shutout and his fourth complete game.

On the year, Sigmon has a 2-2 record with a 2.14 earned run average in his five appearances, including four starts.  The Preseason All-SAC first team selection is limiting the opposition to hit just .182 against him in his 21 innings of work.

Tusculum (11-6) returns to action Wednesday as the Pioneers host North Greenville for a 4 p.m. contest at Pioneer Park.
