    ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Six Tusculum University student-athletes have been named to the 2019 All-South Atlantic Conference Football Team announced league officials on Tuesday. The team is selected by a vote of the league’s nine head football coaches.

    TOKYO --- Former Tusculum University pitcher Brandon Dickson was named to the All-World Team by the World Baseball Softball Confederation following the completion of the Premier12 on Sunday. The U.S. finished the tournament in fourth place with a 4-4 record.

The Pioneers claimed the No. 6 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Tournament and will travel to the Abney Athletic Center for a 7pm showdown with a familiar foe seeded third.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. --- The Tusculum Pioneers bowled a 235 in the seventh and deciding game to knock off 15th-ranked Delaware State Sunday at the inaugural Vernell Stallings Invitational. With the victory, Tusculum claimed seventh place honors and after a 0-5 start to the weekend, TU bounced back by winning six of its last eight matches.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Tusculum posted a 4-1 record Saturday including its second win over nationally-ranked Lincoln Memorial as the Pioneers completed day two action at the inaugural Vernell Stallings Invitational. The three-day, 12-team tournament is being held at the AMF All-Star Lanes and hosted by North Carolina A&T.

    JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. --- Quarterback Tyler Thackerson accounted for four touchdowns, while the Carson-Newman defense recorded a school-record 10 sacks as the Eagles defeated in-state rival Tusculum 49-13 Saturday afternoon at Burke-Tarr Stadium. It was the 49th meeting in the second oldest collegiate gridiron rivalry in the State of Tennessee (1904).
