Katie Baldwin is in her second season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Tusculum College. Baldwin assists in all aspects of the program, including player development, recruiting, travel coordination and game day management.

Baldwin was a crucial part of the Pioneers’ success during the 2009-10 season, as Tusculum captured the program’s first-ever Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament and NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament titles, while advancing to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the first time in school history.

Baldwin played a vital role in the development of several Pioneer standouts, including rising sophomore Kendal Baxter, who set a South Atlantic Conference- and program-record with 105 three-pointers last season. Baxter also eclipsed what was believed to be the NCAA Division II record for three-pointers by a freshman.

Prior to joining the Pioneer coaching staff, Baldwin served as the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of North Carolina Asheville during 2007-08 season, before being elevated to Assistant Coach prior to the 2008-09 campaign. She is also a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Baldwin graduated from UNC Asheville in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Sports Administration. Baldwin played three seasons in the backcourt for the Bulldogs and helped UNC Asheville capture a Big South Conference championship during the 2006-07 campaign. During that season, Baldwin averaged seven points per game and was second on the team with 46 three-pointers.

Baldwin is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Baldwin. She has one sister, Jeston Lotz, Brother-in-law Travis Lotz, and is soon to be a proud Aunt.
