GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University football team is back on campus and has opened its fall camp in preparation for the upcoming 2019 season.
Over 125 student-athletes are on campus and opened practice Friday morning. Per NCAA rules, the team will practice in helmets only for the first two days followed by helmets and shoulder pads on Sunday and Monday and in full gear beginning on Tuesday.
Head coach Jerry Odom, who is entering his fourth season at the helm of the TU program, returns 45 lettermen including 14 starters from last year's 5-5 squad that finished tied for third place in the South Atlantic Conference standings.
This year's roster includes student-athletes hailing from nine U.S. States as well as the country of Nigeria. States represented include: Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
The first day of classes is slated for Monday, August 19 with the season-opener scheduled for Thursday, September 5 at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
