CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Tusculum University women's basketball team remains 10th in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region rankings, through games of December 9.
The Pioneers (4-2) were scheduled to host third-ranked Newberry on Sunday, but the game was postponed due to the weather. Tusculum's last game was a 64-51 loss to Catawba on the road on Dec. 1.
The Pioneers are in a three-way tie this week for the 10th and final position in the poll, along with Lander (4-4) which dropped from sixth after a pair of losses, and newly-ranked Emmanuel (7-2) which earned two victories.
Tusculum is one of six South Atlantic Conference teams in the rankings this week, joined by Wingate (6-2) in second, Newberry (7-0) in third, Anderson (6-2) in fourth, Carson-Newman (6-3) in fifth and poll newcomer Lenoir-Rhyne (6-3) in eighth.
North Georgia (6-1) continues to sit atop the region rankings this week, with Clayton State (4-2) in sixth and Columbus State (4-2) in seventh to represent the Peach Belt Conference along with Lander. At ninth, Barton (8-2) is the highest-ranked team out of Conference Carolinas.
The Pioneers return to the court on Sunday, Dec. 16 at home against Queens, tipping off at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
