Tomassoni finishes third, Pioneers seventh at Noble Memorial

DAHLONEGA, Ga. --- Tusculum's Katie Tomassoni shot a final round 76 and finished with a two-day score of 147 (+3) to tie for third place at the fourth annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament was held at the par-72, 5,934-yard Achasta Golf Club and hosted by the University of North Georgia.

The Pioneers finished seventh in the team competition as they posted a score of 628, including Tuesday's 313, a two stroke improvement from Monday's opening round.

Lee University led wire-to-wire as the Flames shot 586 for the tournament to win by 19 shots over host North Georgia (605).  Lee's Haverly Harrold carded a one-under par total of 143, including a final round 71 on Tuesday.  She won by three shots over second place Hannah Walker of Young Harris who finished with 72-74=146.  Tomassoni and UNG's Megan Sabol tied for third with 147.  Rounding out the All-Tournament Team and finishing tied for fifth place with 148 were Sam Burrus (Lee), Annika Gino (Lee) and Carson Roberts (North Georgia).

Young Harris finished third with 606, while Lenoir-Rhyne (617) and Lincoln Memorial (620) rounded out the top-five.  Columbus State finished sixth with 627, followed by Tusculum (628), Erskine (632), Montevallo (637), Converse (641), UNC Pembroke 643), Newberry (649), Catawba (649), King (652), West Alabama (658) and Southern Wesleyan (675).

Tusculum junior Cydney Murrell posted her second round of 78 and finishing with 156 to tie for 24th place.  Senior Ciara Rattana fired a 76 to tie for 39th place with 159.  Junior Taylor White shot 83 in consecutive days to log a score of 166 and tie for 62nd.  Freshman Meredith Barton finished 86th with 96-95=191.

Tusculum returns to action in two weeks when the Pioneers travel to Memphis, Tennessee for the Christian Brothers/NCAA Super Region Preview (Oct. 30-31).
