Tusculum women seventh after day one of Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- Tusculum's Olivia Cunningham fired an opening round 83 and is tied for 20th place after day one action of the 2020 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate which is being held at the par-72, 5,958-yard Golf Club at South Hampton.

The Pioneers carded a 340 in their first tournament of the spring schedule and are in seventh place in the 13-team field.

Host Wingate leads the tournament with a 306, eight shots in front of Saint Leo (314). Emmanuel is third with 332, followed by Belmont Abbey (333), Lincoln Memorial (335), Newberry (336), Tusculum (340), King (343), Erskine (346), North Greenville (348), Southern Wesleyan (355), Christian Brothers (359) and Coker.

Cunningham is 11 strokes behind first round leader Isabel Nesteus of Saint Leo who posted an even par 72. Nesteus has a two-shot lead over Wingate's Hailey McLaughlin (74) as the Bulldogs have five golfers in the top-10.

TU senior Jennifer Keim is second on the team and 23rd in the tournament after her 84.  Yen Xuan Ong is tied for 26th place with 85, while Tusculum newcomer Hannah Brown shot 88 and is tied for 42nd. Taylor Gransen rounds out the TU scoring with her 94 and is in 56th place.

The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Hampton.
