Fraser, Mundt named Zaxby's Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University men's lacrosse standout Nathan Fraser and women's bowler Jordan Mundt have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week. This is Mundt's second athlete of the week accolade this season, while Fraser earns his inaugural Zaxby's honor.

Fraser went 14-for-16 on faceoffs and picked up 14 ground balls as the Pioneers opened their 2021 season with a 14-5 victory at Alderson Broaddus on Saturday. The Kamloops, British Columbia native went 9-for-10 on faceoffs in the first half and 5-for-6 in the second half, helping Tusculum to a 7-0 scoring run spanning the third and fourth quarters. The 14 ground balls for Fraser are the third-most in a single game in program history, and contributed to a 35-11 edge in ground balls for Tusculum in the match.

Mundt finished second individually at the Railsplitter Classic as she finished with 1,081 total pins in Saturday's five traditional scorer matches. She finished with a 216.2 average and earned All-Tournament honors for a second time this season. She bowled a team-best 234 in Tusculum's 994-953 win over 23^rd-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan College. She eclipsed the 200-mark in four of her five games on Saturday. Tusculum finished fourth in the tournament as the Pioneers went 7-6 on the weekend.
