GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum cross country runner Nathan Buckeridge and volleyball middle blocker Breana Pelbath have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Buckeridge, a junior from Haywards Heath, England, earns his second Athlete of the Week honor this fall. He won his second straight win by capturing the individual title at the Brevard Classic with an 8K-time of 25:35.34. His performance paced the Pioneers to its second straight team meet title. He becomes the becomes the first TU harrier with two wins in a season since David Cooper in 2012.
Pelbath, a junior from Lampasas, Texas, recorded a team-high 17 kills in Tusculum's reverse sweep of Emory & Henry as TU won in the five-set thriller. She posted a .438 hitting percentage and recorded four blocks and pair of digs in the victory. In her eight matches, she is averaging 2.21 kills per set to go along with a .327 hitting percentage.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
