GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum golfer Harrison Price and soccer forward Sydney Grant have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week. Grant earns this honor for a second time this year.
Price earned his first career medal as he shared the individual title at last week's King Invitational. The Winchester, England sophomore posted a seven-under par score of 65-68=133, which is the second-lowest 36-hole score in program history. His opening round 65 (-5) was a career-best and the second-lowest round by a Pioneer.
Price's performance led the Pioneers to its fourth straight King Invitational team title. Tusculum shot a school-record 14-under par score of 546. It was Price's fifth top-20 finish of his young career which now includes a pair of top-five performances.
Grant scored her team-high fourth goal of the season with just over seven minutes left in a 3-2 win over Wingate on Wednesday. Grant put five of her six shot attempts on goal in the match, finally cashing in on a one-on-one with the Wingate keeper to put the Pioneers ahead 3-1.
The Schaumburg, Illinois native has scored at least four goals in each of her four seasons at Tusculum, giving her 17 goals and 11 assists for 45 points in 55 career starts. Her goal on Wednesday was the sixth match-winner of her career and second of the season.
