FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Tusculum University women's beach volleyball team faced a pair of Division I teams on the first day of the Shoals Beach Bash in Alabama.
Tusculum (6-14) rounds out the Shoals Beach Bash on Saturday (Mar. 28) with Spring Hill and hosting North Alabama.
Match 1: Austin Peay 4, Tusculum 1
The Govs rounded out the season sweep of the Pioneers, winning the third matchup of 2026.
Jordyn Anderson and Ryann Gallagher moved up to the No. 4 slot but fell 21-15, 21-12.
Brynn Smith and Sylvia Liszewski dropped their match at No. 2 by scores of 21-19, 21-16.
The 1's of Hannah Marsh and Sofia Vega Barrantes were edged out by 21-16, 21-17 results.
TU's lone point came via the No. 3 pair of Cooper George and Dasha Nikolaeva. The duo pulled off a reverse sweep over their Division I opponents: 15-21, 21-18, 15-10.
The scoring was finalized by the fifth flight. Siri Aasgard and Ally Doty suffered a reverse sweep via a 16-21, 21-19, 15-12 outcome.
Match 2: Eastern Kentucky 4, Tusculum 1
For the second time this season, the Colonels defeat the Pioneers by a 4-1 score.
Jordyn Kwalwasser and Gallagher teamed up for the first time, dropping a 21-17, 21-19 decision in the exhibition flight.
EKU's first point came at the No. 2 slot, downing Smith and Liszewski by identical 21-16, 21-16 scores.
Anderson and Solene Roussel paired up for the first time this season at the fourth flight, falling 22-20, 21-8.
George and Nikolaeva suffered their first loss of the weekend as the 3's with a 26-24, 21-9 setback.
At the top flight, Marsh and Vega Barrantes withstood a comeback effort by their EKU opposites, tallying a 21-12, 21-23, 16-14 victory.
Aasgard and Doty were reverse swept for the second time on the day with a 19-21, 21-12, 15-13 result at No. 5.
