GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Team Orange posted a 13-7 win over Team Black at the 2026 Tusculum University Black & Orange Spring Football Game Saturday morning at Pioneer Field.
Team Orange defense forced four turnovers which led to all 13 points in the victory.
The defenses shined on both sides with TU Orange's Rio Little ending the first quarter with an interception. Following the pick, running back Ladarius Hollingsworth hauled in a 25-yard catch to put TU Orange in business and set up a two-yard TD run by Javon McMahan. Max Turan's extra point was successful as Team Orange led 7-0.
Later in the quarter, TU Orange came up with another turnover as linebacker Donovan Muldrow recovered a fumble. The miscue set up another score when quarterback Ty Engle completed a 35-yard touchdown to wide receiver Gabe Willoughby. The extra point was no good as the score remained 13-0 in favor of Team Orange.
Late in the half, Team Black moved the ball and quarterback Teddy Gleaton completed a 40-yard pass to running back Cam Ferguson on the final play before halftime as Team Orange led 13-0.
Following a scoreless third quarter, Team Black posted its best drive of the game in the fourth period as quarterback Trey Frazier completed a 25-yard pass to wideout Javon Richardson to get into the red zone. Frazier would call his own number as he scored on a one-yard plunge. Adam Fridman's kick made it 13-7 which would be the final score.
Richardson finished the game with four catches for 55 yards, while Ferguson hauled in a 40-yard reception.
The TU Orange defensive efforts were paced by Little, Muldrow, Judah Knight and Brock Hager, while TU Black was paced by Cameron Garnett and Jean Richemond.
On special teams, Greeneville native Quinton Brandon recorded punts covering 40 and 45 yards.
Tusculum will open its 2026 fall season on Thursday, Aug. 27 when they host Bluefield State at Pioneer Field.
