Jake Lassiter was named to the Tusculum University football coaching staff in Spring 2024 where he is responsible for the offensive line. He also serves as the program's Community Service Coordinator.

Lassiter joins the TU staff after serving as a graduate assistant coach at NCAA-FBS Kennesaw State University. He worked with the offensive backfield during the 2022 season and moved to working with the KSU offensive line in 2023 and 2024.

While at the Kennesaw, Georgia school, he was responsible for opponent breakdown, self-scout, scouting reports and in-game charting. He assisted with practice organization, film study, recruiting and all other operations of the Owls’ program.

In his first year on the KSU coaching staff, he helped in the development of three All-ASUN performers on the offensive line in Zion Katina, Matt Olson and Terrell Paxton. In 2023, he was part of Kennesaw’s transition to the FBS level and a new offense from a flex-bone option attack to a pistol offense. Three games into the season, the Owls established a single-game records in passing yards, completions and pass attempts.

During his playing days at Kennesaw State, he was a three-time All-Big South Conference first team performer on the offensive line (2019, 2020, 2021). His teams posted an impressive 26-6 overall record including 14-2 in conference play.

In his final playing season, the Coral Springs, Florida native was the anchor of the line where he played in a team-high 808 snaps while earning the start in all 11 regular-season games. KSU went 11-2 and went 7-0 in league play to capture the 2021 Big South Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA-FCS Playoffs.

In his first season, the he appeared in 13 contests with 12 starts as KSU moved onto the NCAA Playoffs. The Owls boasted the nation’s top-rushing offense, averaging 342.4 yards per game including 6.3 yards per rush. KSU recorded four games with over 400 rushing yards during a season which saw the Owls scored a program-best 58 rushing touchdowns.

Lassiter earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Kennesaw State in 2021 while majoring in sport management. He is in progress of completing his Masters of Science in Public Administration from KSU.
