Four Pioneers earn Conference Carolinas men's bowling honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. --- Four Tusculum University student-athletes have been named to the 2022 Conference Carolinas Men's Bowling All-Conference Team.

Tyler Moore earned All-Conference first team honors, Gabe Taulbee was a second team honoree, while Toney Franklin and Randall Andrews received third team accolades.

Moore, a senior from Lebanon, Tennessee, finished the 2022 regular season third in the league with an overall scoring average of 20.371 per frame and 203.7 overall. He leads the league with his Baker format average of 20.659 per frame and 206.6 per game. He is seventh in traditional format scoring with 20.167 per frame and 201.7 per game.  His overall frame fill percentage of 85 percent is third-best in the conference including a Conference Carolinas-best 86.2 percentage in Baker games.

Moore's strike percentage of .513 is fourth in the league including 50.9 percent in Baker format games (3rd in CC). He earned All-Tournament honors at the Scotty Classic, Columbia 300 Shootout and the Southeastern Shootout this season. He was also named the Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week.

Taulbee, a sophomore from Lebanon, Ohio, is 10th the Conference Carolinas performance index at 65.535. He owns a 191.1 scoring average (19.112 per frame – 13th in CC), including 195.5 in Baker games (19.554 per frame – 5th in CC). His 83.4 overall fill percentage is seventh in Conference Carolinas including 83.5 in Baker games (6th in CC).

Taulbee's individual single pin spare percentage of 87.1 is best on the team and ninth in the league including 91.8 percent in Baker games (5th in CC). He finished 16th at the sectional of Intercollegiate Singles Championship and was an All-Tournament choice at the Black & Orange Classic, earning him Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week accolades.

Franklin, a senior from Mosheim, Tennessee, has a scoring average of 182.1 and a fill percentage of ­76.9 and a 38.5 strike percentage. He finished 19th in the 236-bowler field at the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic and earned Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week honors. He posted a 193.2 average during the tournament as he bowled five 200-games over the weekend.

Randall Andrews, a sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee, finished 44th at the Scotty Classic and 59th at the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic. He has a scoring average of 17.59 per frame.

The Pioneers will be competing in the inaugural Conference Carolinas – Great Midwest Conference Bowling Championship this weekend (Mar. 25-27) at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, North Carolina.
