SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team
carded a two-day 610 to finish sixth at the Chick-Fil-A
Intercollegiate, held this week at the Crescent Golf Club. The
Pioneers posted a final round 296, the second lowest score of the
day as TC shaved 18 shots off its first round performance.
Chase Carroll led the Tusculum charge, firing 150, including
Tuesday's even-par 72 to tie for eighth place. Chris Wynne posted
77-75=152 to tie for 12th place, while Jake Scheffers posted
80-73=153 to tie for 18th. Patrick Clapp carded a 79-76=155 to tie
for 25th, while Will Loggins rounded out the scoring with 88-80-168
(T42).
Tournament host Catawba won the team title with 593, five shots
better than second place North Greenville. Lenoir-Rhyne finished
third with 599, followed by Limestone (601), Mount Olive (607),
Tusculum, Tiffin (616), Lincoln Memorial (623) and Wingate "B"
(655). Catawba's Elliot Blake captured medalist honors with a
three-under par 141, one shot better than runner-up Brad Williams
of Limestone.
Tusculum returns to action Apr. 5-6 for the Carolina Sands
Intercollegiate.
