TAZEWELL, Tenn. --- Chase Carroll fired a
five-under par 67 as the Tusculum College men's golf team shot an
opening round 293 to lead the Lincoln Memorial Fall Invitational
Monday at Woodlake Golf Club. Tusculum has a five-shot advantage
over second place Brevard (298).
Carroll finished the day shooting four-under on his final nine
holes and shares the first round lead with Lenoir-Rhyne's
Kent George.
Walters State is in third with 299, followed by host LMU (301),
Tennessee Wesleyan (302), Wingate (304), North Greenville (305),
Catawba B (305), King (306), Thomas More (307), Lenoir-Rhyne (308),
Tiffin (312), Mars Hill (314) and LMU B (327).
Tusculum's Darren Christie posted an even par 72
and is tied for seventh place, while Lawson George
and Matt McIntyre each fired 77 and are tied for
25th. Jake Scheffers posted an 84 and is tied for
62nd place.
The final round will be played on Tuesday on the 6,771-yard, par
72 layout.
