ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College junior Brad Hawkins has been named to the 2015 All-South Atlantic Conference men's golf first team announced league officials Thursday.
Hawkins, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., is a two-time medalist winning at the Tusculum Fall Classic and the Walters State Classic this past season. His 71.07 stroke average is currently the lowest in the league and third-best in the nation (NCAA II) according to Golfstat. The Central High School graduate's scoring average this year is also on-pace to establish a new Tusculum single-season record.
Hawkins has finished in the top-10 in seven of his nine tournaments he has competed in. He has also posted four top-5 performances, including runner-up outings at the State Farm Intercollegiate and the Etowah Spring Challenge. He is responsible for seven rounds under par (TC single-season record) and has shot in the 60s on five occasions this year, including a season-low 67 at the State Farm Intercollegiate.
Hawkins has led Tusculum to four team titles this year, including three this spring, including the Tusculum Invitational, Hargett Memorial and the Etowah Spring Challenge.
The Pioneers will be competing at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Championship starting this Sunday at Firethorn Country Club in Marvin, North Carolina. The tournament will be played Sunday through Tuesday.
