Men's Golf moves up to eighth after day two of SAC Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. --- The Tusculum Pioneers climbed two spots up the leaderboard and are in eighth place after the second round of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship.

Tusculum shaved four shots off Sunday's opening round and fired an aggregate team score of 301 to give the Pioneers a 36-hole total of 606.

TU freshman Harrison Price posted 74 in as many days and moves four spots up the scoreboard and is tied for 14th place with two-round total of 148. Senior Liam Hermansson is tied for 28th with 75-77=152.

Senior Liam van Deventer carded a 74 on Monday as he went two-under par for his final seven holes including birdies on No. 14 and No. 18. Van Deventer is tied for 36th place with 80-74=154, a 12-spot improvement from his first round performance. Senior Blake Williams is 39th with 76-80=156.

New to this year's championship is team's may substitute a player during the tournament. Marinus Jeebe stepped in on Monday and posted a four-over par 76. It was a sluggish start for Jeebe who was nine-over par after 13 holes. But he turned things around shooting five under par for his final five holes thanks to one birdie and two eagles.

Lincoln Memorial, the fourth-ranked team in NCAA Division II, widened its lead from one shot to 19 after firing the low score of the day at 291. The Railsplitters are first with 570, followed by Wingate (No. 13) with 589 and Lenoir-Rhyne (No. 21) with 594. Newberry made the biggest jump of the day as the Wolves moved up the leaderboard three spots and are fourth with 597 including Monday's 294. Anderson has a two-day total of 599 and is fifth.

Coker is sixth with 600, followed by Catawba (602), Tusculum (606), Limestone (607), Carson-Newman (610), UVA Wise (630), Emory & Henry (646) and Mars Hill (653).

First round leader Lewis Beeden of Wingate is still in first place individually as he followed Sunday's 64 with a 76 for his 36-hole total of 140 (-4). He leads by one stroke over LMU's Max Reynolds (69-72=141).

Tuesday's final round will be played at The Preserve at Verdae on the par-72, 6,872-yard layout. The winner earns the league's automatic berth to next month's NCAA II South/Southeast Super Regional.
