Pioneers finish 14th at Patriot Fall Classic

NINETY SIX, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team finished 14th at the 2025 Patriot Fall Classic. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was hosted by Lander University and held at the par-72, 7,054-yard Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.

The Pioneers finished with a three-round aggregate team score of 892. Tusculum completed the second round on Tuesday with a 303. TU bounced back with 295 team total for its final round.

Wingate led wire-to-wire as the Bulldogs posted a 30-under par score of 834, winning by 17 shots over host Lander (851). Saint Leo was third with 853, followed by Belmont Abbey (868), Palm Beach Atlantic (869), Emmanuel (870), Coker (873), Erskine (877), Carson-Newman (881), Mount Olive (883), Chowan (883), Newberry (885), Embry-Riddle (890), Tusculum (892), Southern Wesleyan (892), Georgia College (892), North Greenville (893), Young Harris (897) and King (908) to round out the 19-team field.

The Tusculum duo of Marinus Jeebe and Ed Linley tied for 36th place with a four-over par 220.

Jeebe carded two rounds in red numbers this week including his one-under par 71 in Tuesday's final round. He was one-over par through four holes before he posting nine consecutive pars. He went two-over par with a bogey on his 14th hole. He closed out strong shooting three-under par for the final four holes including an eagle on his 16th hole and birdied his last to post red numbers for a third time in his last four competitive rounds.

Linley carded a 73 for his last 18 holes as he tallied three birdies, four bogeys and 11 pars.

Lawson Harkey tied for 55th place with his 76-73-75=224 while Joe Stevenson (77-79-76=232) and Fraser Laird (76-76-80=232) tied for 89th.

Wingate's Alfie Storer and Lewis Beeden were tied atop the leaderboard after 54 holes with an 11-under par 205. Storer claimed the individual medal by defeating Beeden on the second playoff hole.

Tusculum closes out the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule. The Pioneers return to action Feb. 8-9 as they compete at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in St. Augustine, Florida.
