SPARKS, Md. --- The Tusculum men's lacrosse team is receiving votes in the 2018 NIKE / US Lacrosse NCAA Division II Preseason Poll.
Head coach Richard Carrington, who is entering his fifth season since starting the program, returns 21 lettermen from last year's 11-4 squad that finished runner-up in the South Atlantic Conference standings and advanced to the SAC Tournament semifinal for a second consecutive year.
The Pioneers will face upon an exciting and challenging schedule which features five teams listed in the preseason top-20 including defending national champion Limestone, who is the preseason favorite in the poll.
Tusculum is one of four SAC programs listed in the preseason rankings including No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne, No. 11 Wingate and No. 18 Queens.
The Pioneers will open the season on Feb. 4 as they travel to No. 7 Tampa.
