LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Tusculum University men's lacrosse team is receiving votes in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Dynamic Division II Coaches Poll, the USILA announced Monday.
The Pioneers (4-0, 1-0 South Atlantic Conference) extended the best start in program history to four consecutive wins with victories at Mars Hill (9-7) on Wednesday and at Lees-McRae (17-6) on Saturday. Tusculum is among 16 teams listed as also receiving votes outside the weekly Top 20 poll, with a total of 11 poll points.
Four SAC teams are ranked in the top 20 this week, led by Wingate (3-0) in sixth, Lenoir-Rhyne (2-1) in seventh, Limestone (2-1) in 12th and Queens (1-1) in 14th. Joining the Pioneers in receiving votes are Catawba with 21 and Newberry with four.
LeMoyne remains the number-one team in the poll ahead of its season opener, followed by Tampa, Seton Hill, Mercyhurst and Adelphi.
The Pioneers will host Newberry in their home opener on Saturday, March 6 at 3 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
