ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University senior attack Nate Raymond has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 20, the SAC office announced Monday.
Raymond set program single-game records for goals (9) and points (14) as the Pioneers remained undefeated with a 21-8 victory at Emmanuel on Saturday. Raymond broke the previous records of seven goals and 10 points set by Keegan Bell in 2019, while his five assists are tied for the second-most in a game in school history.
Raymond had five goals and an assist in the Pioneers' 20-8 win over Lees-McRae on Wednesday, giving him 14 goals and six assists for 20 points in two games during the week. Raymond scored on 14 of his 18 shots on goal, including all nine against Emmanuel.
For the season, the Traceys Landing, Maryland native leads the SAC with 27 goals and 40 points in five games, and is tied for third in the conference in assists with 13. Raymond already ranks sixth on the Tusculum single-season goal list and seventh on the season point list with 11 games remaining in the season.
The Pioneers, who are off to the best start in program history at 5-0, host Alabama Huntsville in their final non-conference game on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
