LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Tusculum University junior attacker Luke Bowen has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division II Team of the Week for the week of Feb. 16-22, the USILA announced Wednesday. It is the third time in his career that Bowen has been selected to the USILA Team of the Week.
Bowen had five goals and eight assists for 13 points as the Pioneers picked up a pair of wins last week, defeating Chowan 17-11 on Tuesday and Thomas More 14-9 on Saturday. Bowen had two goals and five assists in the victory over Chowan, and collected three goals and three assists in the win over Thomas More.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has seven goals and 10 assists through three matches as the Pioneers are off to a 3-0 start. He ranks third in the SAC and eighth in Division II with 3.33 assists per game, and is fourth in the SAC and 10th nationally with 5.67 points per game.
The Pioneers travel to Virginia State on Saturday, Feb. 28 beginning at 1 p.m. The Trojans are off to a 1-1 start, including a 14-6 win over Davis & Elkins in their last game on Feb. 12.
