NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College forward Andreas Kvam has been named the College Men's Soccer Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. Kvam earns his second TSWA honor of his career.
Kvam scored the match-winning goal in road win over Lees-McRae and added an insurance goal in a victory at Lee University on Saturday.
The Valderoey, Norway, native's goal on an assist from Rocco Menna just over five minutes into overtime gave Tusculum a 2-1 victory over Lees-McRae. The junior scored in the final minute against Lee off a rebound, putting the match away for Tusculum in a 4-2 win.
Kvam has scored second-half or overtime goals in all three Tusculum matches this season, all of them off the bench, and his three goals ranks second on the club.
The Pioneers (3-0, 0-0 SAC) open South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday when they host Queens University of Charlotte for a 7:30 p.m. match at Pioneer Field. Tusculum is off to its first 3-0 start since 2008 en route to Tusculum advancing to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
