Perez, Salomonsen earn CSC Men's Soccer Academic All-District honors

AUSTIN, Texas --- Two Tusculum University student-athletes have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Academic All-District® 3 first team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Earning Academic All-District® honors for the Pioneers are junior forward Carlos Perez and senior defender Linus Salomonsen.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer teams honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

District 3 is comprised of colleges and universities representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and played in 90 percent of their team's matches or start in 67 percent of their contests.

Perez, a native of Cali, Colombia, has a 3.62 GPA and is majoring in business administration. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. Last year, he was the recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

He played in 14 matches this year with one start where he posted a goal on six shots, all on goal. His goal came in a 2-0 road win at Lees-McRae. He has played in 28 career matches for the Pioneers including five starts. He has totaled three goals for his six career points.

Salomonsen, a native of Stavanger, Norway, earns CSC Academic All-District® honors for a second straight season. He has a 3.81 GPA and is majoring in sport science. He is a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. He is a two-time recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.

In 2025, he started in all 15 matches and accounted for one goal and two assists for his four points. He was credited with nine shots including two on goal. He has played in 55 career matches at Tusculum (53 starts) where he totaled two goals and six assists for 10 points.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 16.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-2026 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
