ROCK HILL, S.C. --- For the second time this season, Tusculum University senior sprinter Jahzara Hart has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 8.
Hart swept the 60 meters and the 200 meters at the VMI Winter Relays this weekend, and moved into the top five nationally in both events. On Friday, she ran 7.31 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60 meters to break her school record of 7.37 seconds set in December, 2024.
On Saturday, Hart won the 60 meters in 7.36 seconds and captured the 200 meters with a time of 23.93 seconds, breaking her school record of 24.42 seconds also set in December, 2024. Her performance helped the Pioneers to a third-place finish in the meet.
Through Sunday, the Raleigh, North Carolina native ranks second in Division II in the 60 meters and fourth in the 200 meters, and is the top-ranked runner in the SAC in both events.
Tusculum will compete in its final meet before the SAC Championship when it travels to VMI for the Winter Classic on Saturday, Feb. 14.
