Moore, Hart combine for five school records at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- The Tusculum University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the two-day Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.

For the women, sophomore Kori Moore set two individual school records and was part of two record-setting relays, while senior Jahzara Hart ran the fastest time in Division II this season in the 100 meters and joined Moore on the record relays.

The Tusculum men were led by freshman Ivan Garcia Rubio, who broke the school record in the 100 hurdles and ran on the 4x400 relay that tied the program record.

The Pioneers will compete in their final meet of the regular season next Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 at the Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, North Carolina in preparation for the South Atlantic Conference Championship April 29-30 at Emory & Henry.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Moore ran 58.94 seconds in the 400 hurdles on Friday night to break the school record of 1:00.70 by Kialia Claiborne at last weekend's Tennessee Invite. She then ran 13.48 seconds in the preliminaries of the 100 hurdles on Saturday to take down the previous mark of 13.49 seconds set by Theresa Green-White at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship.

Hart jumped to the top of the national leaderboard in the 100 meters as she ran 11.11 seconds to break her own school record of 11.19 seconds set at the 2025 NCAA Championship. She also collected a win in the 200 meters on Friday with a season-best time of 23.48 seconds.

Moore and Hart were also part of both Tusculum relays that set school records on Saturday. The 4x100 relay of sophomore Qitarah Castlin, senior Shanice Cox, Moore and Hart won with a time of 43.97 seconds, the fastest in Division II this season and better than the previous Tusculum mark of 44.24 seconds set at the 2025 NCAA Championship.

In the 4x400 relay, the Pioneers' quartet of Castlin, Hart, Cox and Moore ran 3:41.78 to easily shatter the mark of 3:46.40 set at last year's SAC Championship.

Castlin finished second in the 100 meters with a career-best time of 11.41 seconds in the finals, while Cox was 10th in the 100 at 11.60 seconds. Cox also ran fifth in the 200 meters on Friday at 23.96 seconds, with Castlin in 10th at 24.11 seconds.

Senior Jesica Mbhamali had the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 800 meters at 2:21.33, with freshman Hannah McLain recording the 10th-fastest mark at 2:21.85.

MEN'S RECAP
Garcia Rubio ran 14.77 seconds in the 110 hurdles to break the record of 14.78 seconds set by Althiery Leontes at the 2021 SAC Championship. He also ran the anchor leg in the 4x400 relay with freshman Lamarkus Dunn, junior Chazz Alexander and sophomore Tinotenda Musariri that tied the school record at 3:10.72, originally set in May, 2024 at the Lee Last Chance Meet.

Freshman Tomas Ribeiro took seventh overall with a career-best time of 1:52.86 in the 800 meters, while Musariri was 12th in the 100 meters at 10.48 seconds.

Junior Noah Girard finished in third place in the javelin with a top throw of 51.31 meters (168 feet, 4 inches).
