Women's BASKETBALL RANKED THIRD IN NATION IN SCORING OFFENSE

NCAA INDIANAPOLIS --- The No. 15 Tusculum College women's basketball team is listed third in the nation in scoring offense in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II women's basketball statistics, ranking in the top 10 in a total of five individual and team categories announced NCAA officials Tuesday.

Tusculum (23-4) has connected on 46.5% of its attempts from the floor over the last 15 games to enter this week's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament ranked sixth in the nation in field goal percentage (47.5%). The Pioneers are also ranked third in scoring offense (84.6), eighth in scoring margin (+19.0), seventh in assist to turnover ratio (1.17), 11th in blocked shots (5.0), and 15th in assists (18.0). Tusculum is also ranked 13th in winning percentage (85.2).

Sophomore Jasmine Gunn is ranked eighth in the nation in assists, averaging 6.2 helpers per game while fellow second-year player Jasmine Parker is ranked 59th with 4.5 assists per contest. Parker is also 31st in NCAA II with a 1.79 assist to turnover ratio while Gunn is ranked 34th with a mark of 1.78 helpers per miscue. Gunn is also ranked 60th in free throw percentage (83.7%), and 60th in field goal percentage (50.6%).

2007-08 WBCA All-American Stephany Neptune has been one of the best shooters in the nation over her last 15 games, knocking down 50% of her attempts in that span to enter the SAC Tournament ranked 34th in the nation with a 53.3% field goal percentage this season. The junior forward is also ranked 31st in rebounding (9.9) and 47th in blocked shots (1.7). Fellow junior Kat Spears is also listed among the top shot blockers in the land, ranking 81st with 1.4 rejections per game.

Ashli Oliver
continues to be ranked among the nation's leaders in three-pointers per game, knocking down an average of three triples per contest to rank 16th in NCAA II. Nikki Van Dine is also ranked 23rd in three-point field goal percentage (42.2), and 22nd in triples per game (2.9).

Tusculum returns to the court on Wednesday when the top-seeded Pioneers host the No. 8 seeded Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters (11-16) in the quarterfinal round of the Sac Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
