AUSTIN, Texas --- Tusculum University's Abbi Douglas and Ema Nagyova have been named to the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 3 Women's Basketball first team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
District 3 is comprised of colleges and universities representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and played in 90 percent of their team's games or start in 67 percent of their contests.
Douglas, a graduate student from Ashland City, Tennessee, returns to the CSC Academic All-District® team from for a second consecutive year. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of the Cumberlands where she finished with a 3.84 GPA. She earned her masters degree in sport management from Tusculum in 2025 with high honors and is pursuing a second masters in organizational training and performance management.
Douglas averaged 12.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in her 24 contests which included 22 starts. She scored in double figures on 13 occasions this season including four games with 20 or more points.
In her two seasons with the Pioneers, she totaled 576 points, 283 rebounds, 128 assists and 103 steals during her 52 contests in the Black & Orange.
Nagyova, a sophomore from Ziar nad Hronom, Slovakia, has a 3.73 GPA while majoring in special education. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Dean's List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
She appeared in all 28 games including 20 starts where she averaged 8.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. She posted 11 contests with 10 or more points including a season-best 19 at Wingate where she went 5-of-9 from three-point territory. She averaged nearly two 3-pointers made per contest and notched a career-best six triples in a rematch with Wingate.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced next month.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-2026 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
