GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Three student-athletes have made commitments to attend Tusculum College and play golf for the Pioneers announced TC women's coach Bob Dibble. Joining the Pioneers next fall will be Emee Herbert, Alec Cunningham and Courtney Saddler.
Herbert, a native of Johns Creek, Ga., has played her prep golf at Greater Atlanta Christian High School in Norcross, Ga. where she led her squad to a pair of Regional Championships in 2009 and 2010. The 2009 team finished as State Runner-up, while the 2010 squad captured the Georgia State title. Herbert is a 2010 All-State First Team selection, while also enjoying great success in junior golf. She played in the AJGA, Atlanta Junior Golf, PGA Junior and the Southeastern Junior golf tours. She has captured medalist honors on numerous occasions during her playing career.
"I feel that Emee will be a great fit here at Tusculum and with our women's program," said Dibble. "She has great talent and a huge desire to win. Emee has accumulated a great amount of golf tournament experience, playing in various junior tours all over the country. No doubt in my mind, she will be an All-Conference player for us in the future."
Cunningham comes to Tusculum from Knoxville Catholic High School in Knoxville, Tenn. She led her 2009 club to a District 4AAA Regional Championship where she captured the medalist title with a 78. Cunningham won one of only 12 junior players in the State to be invited to play in the Tennessee Junior Tournament of Champions. She also captured several junior events this past summer on the TGA Junior Tour.
"Alex has a terrific work ethic, not only on the golf course, but in the classroom," Dibble added. "She will be an immediate impact player on the team."
Saddler, a native of Bristol, Tenn., has played her prep career at Tri-Cities Christian High School. She is a multi-sport athlete at Tri-Cities, lettering in several sports.
"It is obvious to me that Courtney has the desire to work on her game consistently so she will be an immediate help to the Tusculum team," Dibble said.
