SUNSET BEACH, N.C. --- Freshman Ciara Rattana posted an opening round 78 and is tied for 20th place at the 2014 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held on the Rees Jones Course at the Sea Trail Resort in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
The Pioneers posted a team score of 322 and is in 11th place in the 20-team tournament field.
Florida Tech has the first day lead as the Panthers shot 299 and lead by eight shots over Newberry (307) and Wingate (307). Limestone is fourth with 308, while Lincoln Memorial rounds out the top-five at 313.
Three teams are tied for sixth place at 314, including Queens, Erskine and King. Coker is ninth with 318, followed by Catawba (321), Tusculum, Mount Olive (325), Pfeiffer (333), Barton (334), Anderson (337), Belmont Abbey (341), Mars Hill (344), Lenoir-Rhyne (344), Emmanuel (352) and Virginia-Wise (390).
Tusculum senior Alec Cunningham shot a 79 and is tied for 27th place, while sophomore Taylor Lambertsen is 40th following Monday's 81. Junior Calley Lawson carded an 84 and is tied for 63rd place, while junior teammate Kelly Horrell finished with a 97 (T98th). TC sophomore Lindsay Butler fired a 91, playing as an individual competitor and is tied for 86th place.
Florida Tech's Johanna Larsson carded a four-under par 68 and leads by four shots for the individual title.
The final round will be played on Tuesday.
