SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team fired an opening day 325 and are tied for fifth place at the Converse Spring Invitational, which is being held at the par-72, 5,881-yard Carolina Country Club.

The Pioneers are in a three-way tie Erskine and Milligan and are just eight shots behind tournament leader King University, who posted 317.

Two shots behind King is Anderson, who carded 319, one shot better than Queens University of Charlotte. Converse is four with 322, followed by TC, Erskine and Milligan at 325. Wingate is eighth with 329, followed by Pfeiffer (332), Coker (341), Lenoir-Rhyne (344), Belmont Abbey (350), Converse B (358), Barton (361), Spartanburg Methodist (396) and Brevard (403).

Ciara Rattana and Taylor Lambertsen are tied for 13th place following Monday's rounds of 79. Katie Tomassoni is 26th with 83, while Calley Lawson is tied for 38th with 84. Cydney Murrell rounds out the TC scoring with her 85 (T38). Lindsey Butler and Kelly Horrell are playing as individual competitors as the duo shot 92, and 93 respectively.

King's Elizabeth Swallow shot a one-over par 73 and has the first round lead, who shots ahead of Braiden Furtick of Anderson.

The final round is scheduled to be played on Monday.
