HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- Tusculum University senior Reagan Padilla is tied for 14th place after 34 holes at the Battle at Hilton Head. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held the par-72, 5,934-yard Palmetto Dunes Golf Club.
Play was suspended due to darkness on Monday with most competitors needing to finish a couple of holes to complete their round. The second round will wrap up Tuesday morning with the third and final round to follow.
Padilla shot a five-over par score of 77 to start the day and is three-over par in her second round with two holes to play. She is eight-over par in the 19-team tournament which features nine nationally-ranked teams including three programs in the top-10.
The Pioneers are +67 as a team as TU carded an aggregate score of 324 (+36) for their first round and are at +31 for their second 18 thus far.
Top-ranked Wingate has a nine-shot lead as the No. 1 Bulldogs are +13 in the tournament and are ahead of second-place Lander (+22). Host Lincoln Memorial is third at +32, followed by Erskine (+33), North Georgia (+37), Lenoir-Rhyne (+42), Indianapolis (+42), Carson-Newman (+48), USC Beaufort (+55), Emmanuel (+55), Tusculum (+67), Columbus State (+72), Coker (+76), Mount Olive (+83), Belmont Abbey (+88), North Greenville (+94), Converse (+97), Barton (+105) and Shorter (+273).
Tusculum's Annabelle Mozingo is tied for 41st place at +14 with three holes remaining in her second round. Mozingo opened with an 81 but is five-over par in her second round.
Maylei Hildenbrand is 62nd with +19 and is +8 for her second round with two holes left. Delfin Filiz is tied for 76th at +26, while McKenna Williams is 93rd at +37.
