GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Michaela Myhre has been named to the Tusculum University women's soccer coaching staff as a graduate assistant announced TU head coach Mike Joy.
Myhre was a midfielder for The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) women's soccer program, playing in 16 matches. She is credited with four shots, including one on goal, across 190 minutes of action for the Falcons. While at the Odessa, Texas institution, she was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Honor Roll, President's List, and Dean's List.
"We are excited to have Michaela join our Tusculum Women's Soccer staff," said Joy. "She will be a tremendous help to us with our large roster, including 18 freshmen. With her diverse background, she will be able to help us in many areas. She is a fellow Texan and we believe she can help us have continued success recruiting student-athletes from there."
Off the field, Myhre worked all across the UTPB campus. She served as a campus recreation assistant, resident assistant, and financial aid office assistant. Myhre recently interned in the strength and conditioning department, with a primary focus on the Falcons' women's soccer, volleyball, and football teams. Additionally, she was also employed by RG3 Concessions.
Myhre graduated in 2020 from UTPB with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology-sports studies with a psychology minor. The Round Rock, Texas native attended East View High School where she was three-time team captain and accumulated numerous honors: Academic All-State, Academic All-District, National Honor Society, and "A" Honor Roll.
"I am so excited to start learning from Coach Joy and Coach Fyffe as they have the experience that is needed within collegiate coaching," said Myhre. "This team has a lot of talent and, even with all of the changes due to COVID-19, they are continuing to put in the work."
