TUSCULUM'S BRONWYN HARTLEY NAMED SAC Women's TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bronwyn Hartley ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Bronwyn Hartley of Tusculum College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Monday.

Hartley, a senior from Beamsville, Ontario Canada, went undefeated in singles and doubles to lead the 37th-ranked Pioneers to a pair of victories last week. Tusculum posted a 7-2 win over Catawba and a 9-0 victory against Wingate as the Pioneers have won their last six matches.

Hartley outlasted Catawba's KT Rebadow 7-5, 7-6 at No. 2 singles and preceded that with an 8-3 pro set win at No. 3 doubles with Blake Thompson. The TC pair defeated Catawba's Vanessa Silva and Jennifer Dameron in the win.

Against Wingate, Hartley won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1 over Zoe Hartas for her fifth straight victory at No. 2 singles. With the win, Hartley improves her record to 15-5 overall and 5-2 in league matches.

The SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
