Baechler named CSC Women's Tennis Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas --- Tusculum University's Elodie Baechler has been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Academic All-America® Women's Tennis second team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Baechler becomes the sixth Academic All-America® in program history and joins former Pioneer greats: Pam Holt (2000), Franziska Funke (2016, 2017, 2018), Annie McCullough (2019, 2020, 2021), Emilie Hansen (2021) and Caitlin McCullough (2021).

The 2025 Academic All-America® Women's Tennis team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and be in the lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores.

Baechler, a native of La Rippe, Switzerland, finished with 3.98 GPA while majoring in sport management. She graduated last month with her Bachelor of Arts degree earning summa cum laude honors. She is a member of the President's List, SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List.

She is a three-time Academic All-District® selection becoming only the third Pioneer in program history to achieve the feat. She is a three-time ITA Academic Team choice and earned the 2024 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

Baechler played in 18 singles matches where she amassed a 7-3 record including 5-0 in league play to garner All-SAC second team honors. She also amassed an 8-8 doubles record which included a 5-2 worksheet in conference matches earning All-SAC doubles recognition for a third time in her career.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-2025 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
