SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis team stretched its winning streak to five matches in a row with a 4-1 victory at Livingstone College Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers (6-2) are on their longest win streak since taking seven straight victories in April, 2023.
In doubles, Carla Guasch ad Sophia Amyes beat Aida Garba and Aiyra Johnson 6-0 at flight two, and Ylva Frafjord Landa and Emma Kotzmannova defeated Ashley Cooke and Monica Castaldo 6-3 at flight one.
In singles, Amyes won by default at flight six and Landa downed Garba 6-0, 6-1 at flight one for a 3-0 Tusculum lead. Castaldo claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win over Ginevra Moreno Villa at flight three, but Guasch beat Johnson 6-1, 6-2 at flight four to clinch the win over the Blue Bears (2-2).
Tusculum will open its South Atlantic Conference schedule on Wednesday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. against Anderson at the Nichols Tennis Complex. The Trojans are 9-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play, including a 6-0 record on the road.
