GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis team earned a 4-0 victory over Mars Hill University in South Atlantic Conference action Wednesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
Facing a five-player Mars Hill lineup, the Pioneers (8-9, 1-6 SAC) quickly finished off the victory over the Lions (3-13, 0-8 SAC) to pick up their second straight victory.
In doubles, Sophia Amyes and Carla Guasch won by default at flight three, and Ginevra Moreno Villa teamed with Jimena Rivera Camacho for a 6-3 win at flight two over Valentina Castro and Versha Yadav at flight two.
The Pioneers went ahead 2-0 by default at flight six, then Ylva Frafjord Landa earned a victory at flight one when Shakti Mishra retired down 4-1 in the first set. Rivera closed the win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Alaina Holden at flight five.
Tusculum will host Carson-Newman on Thursday, April 2 following the men's match at the Nichols Tennis Complex. The Eagles have lost two straight to fall to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
