GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum women's volleyball team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday (Oct. 31).
The Pioneers (8-13, 6-9 SAC) were defeated by the Bears (17-5, 11-3 SAC) by scores of 25-23, 25-8, 25-16.
Emmaleigh Allen finished with a match-high 10 kills for Lenoir-Rhyne. Both Sydney Karjala and Alicia Barbarito notched 17 assists as the team's setting duo. Libero Hadley Prince tallied a match-leading three service aces and 27 digs. Averie Dale was credited five total blocks (four solo, one assist).
Three Pioneers finished with six kills apiece: Karris Oller, Breana Pelbath, and Grace VanZwieten. Both Jaida Alvin and Mackenzie Land added four kills, while Eliza Jewell Oliverius and Laney Craig tallied one kill each. Sadie Roach led the setters with 18 assists. Oller finished with a pair of aces. Liberos Mia Wave-Nelson (16) and Mary Katherine Hall (10) reached double figures in digs. At the net, Pelbath was credited with three total blocks (one solo, two assists).
Lenoir-Rhyne hit .262 as a team with 43 kills and 11 errors on 122 total attempts. Tusculum hit .033 with 28 kills, 24 errors, and 123 total attacks. The Bears led the Pioneers in assists (39-28), service aces (7-5), and total blocks (9-5). The teams tied with 62 digs apiece.
Tusculum has a week off before hosting Wingate for Senior Night on Friday (Nov. 7) at 6 p.m.. The Pioneers will honor four student-athletes for their contributions to the program: Taylor Sanders, Isabella Bianchin, Jordyn Roderick, and Madison O'Sullivan.
