GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum cross country coach Cory Pratt has announced the Pioneers will be competing at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday, October 11th at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C. The first race will start at 3:30 p.m. and is hosted by the Queens University of Charlotte.

The meet will provide a preview of the host site of the 2013 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional championship in November.

The addition of the Royals Challenge was a result of the cancellation of the Sept. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational in Newton, N.C. The race was cancelled due to wet course conditions.

The Pioneers will open the 2013 season on Saturday, Sep. 14th at the Hyder-McMahill Invitational in Montreat, N.C. First race is slated for 9 a.m.
