VOLLEYBALL RANKED SIXTH IN NCAA SOUTHEAST REGION POLL

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College volleyball team is listed sixth in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings. The Pioneers (20-7, 8-4 SAC) are one of six South Atlantic Conference teams listed in this week's region top 10.

Wingate holds down the top spot in the poll for a second straight reporting period. Catawba and Armstrong Atlantic flip-flop positions. Catawba is No. 2 in the region, while AASU is third. Lander is fourth, while Francis Marion made the biggest jump in the poll, moving from 10th to fifth. Tusculum stays at No. 6, followed by Pfeiffer, Carson-Newman, Newberry and Lincoln Memorial.

Eight teams from each of the eight NCAA regions will advance to the 64-team NCAA II Tournament. The South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas will each garner an automatic bid to the Southeast Regional. Five at-large teams will also receive bids to the NCAA postseason

Tusculum clinched its third straight 20-win season with Wednesday's five-set win over Lincoln Memorial.

The Pioneers will host Carson-Newman this Saturday at 2 p.m. from Pioneer Arena. TC and the Lady Eagles played in a five-set marathon last month, with Tusculum prevailing 3-2.
